Rossin 1990 Road Bicycle. 59cm Rossin 1990 Road Bicycle. 59cm Very sought-after road racing bicycle from the legendary Italian frame builder Mario Rossin. The Rossin brand was born from a dispute with Colnago in the 70s. From the onset the intention was to become a direct competitor with Colnago, and the frames were built to a similar quality – not surprisingly, as the head frame builder, Mario Rossin, was previously chief builder at Colnago. It can take a long time to forget disputes in Italy, it seems. Rossin would go on to pioneer several new trends in bicycle design, including aero frame design, smaller front wheels, and other time-trial innovations. This particular 90s machine is in first class condition. The frame is made of high-end Tange Prestige tubes in various thickness and brazed at low temperature. Though Columbus was the usual choice for Rossin frames during the 1980s and 1990s, the price of the Yen and the quality of production coming from Japan in the early 1990s saw many Italian producers, including Rossin, opting for the stronger Tange Prestige Competition tubing. The tubes are hexagonoly shape to icrease stiffness. The lugs are custom made by Rossin. The bicycle is very high end, built with beautiful craftsmanship and it shows what the top builders were capable of back in the day. To suit this high level of achievement this bicycle has been equipped with a complete Campagnolo Chorus group set. To match the era and style of the bike we mounted mirror polished Campagnolo Ventos. The black leather saddle comes from Selle Italia. The Flite Titanium saddles are in our opinion the best formed classic saddles of the 90s. We fitted a black 3ttt Rossin pantographed stem as a finishing touch. Overall the bike is in great condition, showing little signs of use. All components are in excellent condition, fully functional and its ready to burn rubber. There are a few minor scrapes to the paint that appear to be from storage rather than abuse. No dents or cracks. Tyres, cables bar tape are new. Wheel-set can be exchanged for an equivalent set of tubulars if you prefer. Weve set the bike up according to our taste, with a view to preserving the classic look and style. In saying that, if you would like to make some small changes (saddle, bar tape etc), then often this is possible.
