Selling my VanMoof S3 “light”-color electric bike. The S3 is a Class 1 e-bike with 28-inch wheels and hydraulic disc brakes. It provides pedal-assist motor power up to 20 mph via four motor assist levels, using a 250W front-hub motor and integrated (non-removable) 54 Wh battery. As a Class 1 bike, it has no throttle, but it does have a “boost button” for extra motor power for starting from stops or going up hills. It has a built-in rear wheel kick lock which activates the integrated tamper-detection alarm and GPS tracking via cellular signal (free of charge). This is the original S3 model so it does not have the Apple “Find My” integration. The gear system is a Sturmey-Archer 4-speed internal gear hub with an electronic shifter that can be set to automatic (speed-based) or manually controlled. It also has an LED matrix display to show speed and battery level during use, as well as integrated headlight and tail light that can be set to automatic (light-sensitive) or always on. The S3 is recommended for riders from 5’8″ to 6’8″. I have the two included handlebar “lift” rings installed, but they are removable if you prefer the handlebars at a lower height. It has about 2,100 miles on it, so it definitely shows signs of normal wear, but it has no mechanical or electrical problems. I purchased the Peace of Mind Maintenance plan, so it has been well maintained by the VanMoof store in SF — the front brake rotor and pads, as well as the front inner tube, were just replaced. The tires were also recently replaced and have plenty of wear remaining. There’s about 5 months left on the Peace of Mind Maintenance and Theft plans, which will transfer to the new owner automatically. (These plans originally cost me $590 for the 3 year coverage when I bought it, so that’s about $80 worth of coverage remaining.) PoM Theft means that if the bike is stolen (and the kick lock was activated), VanMoof will find and return the bike within 2 weeks, and if they can’t, they’ll provide a replacement S3 — no deductible. PoM Maintenance means normal wear and tear, failures, and checkups are covered free of charge (with certain exceptions – check their website). I will include the charger and the VanMoof “toolbox” which includes the assembly tools, the Torx security key to adjust the seat, and the anti-theft wheel key. I also have the original invoice which I will provide to the new owner. The horn and phone mount pictured are not included, but I am happy to give you my ABUS SmartX 770A Bluetooth-controlled U-lock for free with the bike (a $200+ value) if you want it.
